Are we really telling students that we care? The answer sometimes might be NO and this is because it is not that easy to put ourselves out there. As adults we need to get more comfortable with doing the things that push us to reveal our humanity to our students. Doing this activity created a stronger bond between me and the students that I recognized in the video and I am pretty sure it did the same for my colleagues that shared what inspired them about their students. I mean... come on... look at the looks on their faces. These students were shocked that this is where the conversation was going. We are often so busy with our tasks that we forget to say the little things that make a huge different to the lives of our students.
The school goal was to reach each student by the end of the year. This goal wasn't meant this video was played for all students to see that we, as their teachers, appreciate them. It totally brightened up our community.
Inspire - record students “telling them that you're taking pictures of things that inspire you or create an abridged version of this (which I did) and then sharing it with your classes
***this is best when it is a school wide initiative***
